The Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) mandate , starting January 9, 2021, the theoretical training and Module 5 knowledge exam can be delivered online.
Safa Driving School is offering the "Road Safety Education Program" online. All theory classes are being offered via Zoom.
You may start your course when you are 15 years and 11 months old. On your 16th birthday, you may attend your Knowledge test (online only)at Safa Driving School. At the time of your registration at Safa Driving School, parents or legal guardian written consent is required (only if you are under 18 years of age).

- The Road Safety Education Program is mandatory for all the new students 16 years of age and older. The program includes 12 Theory class (2 hour each class ) and 15 In-Car Session.
You may start your course when you are 15 years and 11 months old. On your 16th birthday, you may attend your Knowledge test (online only)at Safa Driving School. At the time of your registration at Safa Driving School, parents or legal guardian written consent is required (only if you are under 18 years of age).
Obtain a driver’s learner’s
- The original Attestation provided by the Safa Driving school after passing your knowledge test (Phase-1).
- Make an appointment SAAQ : https://saaq.gouv.qc.ca/en/find-service-outlet
- Two piece of valid Identification such as health insurance card, the original birth certificate or Passport and the written consent of the parents or legal guardian if you are under 18.
- Pass a vision test at the SAAQ.
Phase 1 is a prerequisite for a learner’s license. You can attend any of these modules in any order. However, Module 5 (Evaluation) can only be attended if all previous Modules were completed.
Duration: 28 days minimum.
Phase 2 is combined of 2 theoretical modules and 4 individuals in car sessions.
Duration: 28 days minimum.
Phase 3 is combined of 3 theoretical modules and 6 individuals in car sessions.
Duration: 56 days minimum
Phase 4 is combined of 2 theoretical modules and 2 individuals in car sessions. A team work of two students from Safa Driving School. This team work helps one student understand strengths and weaknesses of the other student that they partner with. You must clear In-Car Session #15 Summary to obtain the final attestation from Safa Driving School.
Duration: 56 days minimum
If you have held your learner’s permit for at least 10 months and have completed Modules 11 and 12, you are eligible for the SAAQ knowledge test. You can contact with SAAQ to make an appointment or you can create an account and book it online.
You may schedule the SAAQ road test immediately after passing the knowledge test at SAAQ or by telephone or online. Remember before SAAQ road test appointment, you must complete your Road Safety education program with Safa Driving School. You must carry your complete Road Safety Education Program attestation from Safa Driving School and your valid learner’s permit and applicable SAAQ fees.
